Winds of Change

A few things to share this week about PCWH people and projects:

1. Our new Outreach Coordinator (Theresa Abday) started today and is off to the races in connecting with our PCWH clinicians and colleagues working within Alberta Health Services on preventing and managing pediatric obesity.

2. Chenhui Peng is continuing on as our Data Analyst until the end of December. His position (0.5 FTE) was recently posted on the AHS website, so we hope to find an excellent candidate to build on his work. Whomever we hire will have big shoes to fill as Chen has done a wonderful job of both developing this position and organizing our health services data.

3. We were very happy to learn that Sandra Chen, one of our registered dietitians for the past year (filling in for Tesia Bennett during her maternity leave) was the successful candidate for an RD position with the Pediatric Nephrology clinic at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. Congrats, Sandra! They’re lucky to have you.

4. Finally, we received ethics approval for our RMI-Family study in Edmonton; just awaiting final word from Calgary. More work to do behind the scenes for the next few weeks, but the study will be rolling early in the New Year. To keep up-to-date on all things RMI-Family, please check out the new blog (led by Dr. Nick Spence) at: https://rmifamily.wordpress.com/
