As some of you know, before we launched the full scale Readiness and Motivation Interview for Families (RMI-Family) study to validate a novel measure of motivation in youth with obesity and their parents, we completed a pilot study. Our pilot extended the motivation-related research from the field of eating disorders, which was led by our colleague and friend, Dr. Josie Geller from the University of British Columbia. The qualitative data that Josie and her team collected in Vancouver to create the RMI-Family was complemented by quantitative data that we collected in Edmonton at the PCWH. Subsequently, our data were combined into one manuscript to tell the history and initial development of this clinical interview. Recently, we were happy to learn that our paper was accepted for publication in the Canadian Journal of Dietetic Practice and Research. More details to follow when it goes to print later this year.
