New Paper Published – RMI-Family Pilot Study

Experts recommend that clinicians should assess families’ motivation and readiness to participate in weight management before health services begin. This is challenging to do in clinical practice when there are few (any?) tools that are valid and reliable. This gap led to our ongoing study – The Readiness and Motivation Interview for Families (RMI-Family) – which was designed to test the utility of the RMI-Family in pediatric weight management. However, before our current study began, it was preceded by several years of developmental work, which was described in a paper that we recently published in the Canadian Journal of Dietetic Practice and Research, research that was led by our friend and colleague Dr. Josie Geller.
